Bridge back in trainingManager Nigel Adkins gave an injury update this (Wednesday) afternoon at Hogwood Park.
Adkins revealed that left back Wayne Bridge returned to training after missing our win at Yeovil because of a knee injury, whilst there was also a return to training for Mikele Leigertwood - who has been out with an ankle injury since the back end of last season. Jason Roberts is still a long way off a return, but is progressing well.
"Wayne's trained this morning with us," said the manager. "That's his first training session back in the group, so we'll see how he responds to that. Obviously we've got three games coming up next week, and we'll just have to see how we can get Wayne to the level that we need to get him to.
"Mikele joined in the training session as well, so we're really pleased about that. He's still not ready to return for a game, so let's not put any expectation on that. We're really pleased, he's a top top man. He's done great for the football club - I've got utmost respect for him as a professional person and a human being. The way he has conducted himself has been top class, and we wish him well on his recovery from injury. It looks as if everything is going great, now it's about getting back into the fold.
"We'll see how Jason keeps progressing - we're not putting a time frame on it. Jason's working hard with the rehab department, he's had a little taster on the pitch with the lads and what we've got to do is make sure he keeps progressing in a diligent manner."
