Striker speaks at Pride Park
Pavel Pogrebnyak spoke to the press after his match winning brace against Derby County on Saturday afternoon.
The Russian international covered a number of subjects, including his return from suspension and his relationship with the Reading fans...
Pavel on his brace
"Every game is important, every player wants to play in the first eleven. I will continue to work hard on training field, and I hope I’ll play. Every striker wants to score in every game but I’m more happy that my team won today. It was difficult after the game against Brighton but I just keep going and I try to keep head up, and today was good. It’s a very important three points."
Pavel on staying at Reading
"I’m very happy that I stayed here. I had some opportunity to go, but I don’t speak again about this. Now my head is in Reading and I work hard and help my team to be in Premier League."
On Nigel Adkins
"We have talked often and I think he helped me very much. He said to me ‘keep going, work hard on the training, and we will see’. It’s simple. If you train hard you will play."
On the fans
"I understand what they sang! But I can’t say it now… I want to say the fans helped and thank you for their support today."
