Players representing nations

Over ten first team or Academy players are representing their nations this week during the international break.

Hal Robson-Kanu and Chris Gunter (Wales), Jobi McAnuff, Shaun Cummings and Garath McCleary (Jamaica), Kaspars Gorkss (Latvia) are all in action on Thursday evening.

Our Welsh duo are away at Macedonia for a World Cup 2014 qualifier, the Reggae Boyz are in Panama for a qualifier while Gorkss' Latvia have a group match away at Lithuania. Stephen Kelly withdrew from the Republic of Ireland squad after the birth of his child.

Jake Cooper (England U19s) and Sean Long (Ireland U19s) are in action on Thursday - the Young Lions are away in Estonia while the Emerald Isle's youngsters face Slovenia in Waterford. Academy player Liam Kelly, scorer of an unbelievable free-kick for the Academy, made his first ever international appearance alongside Long in a 3-0 defeat - the first of two games against the Slovenians.

Tariqe Fosu has been on stand-by for England's U19s, while defender Niall Keown had to withdraw to due injury. Meanwhile, Icelandic youngster Samuel Fridjonsson was also involved with his country, taking a place on the substitute's bench against Scotland U19s - the same fixture takes place against tomorrow (Thursday) evening.
