Academy beat Blackburn

15 April 2014

3-1 win for under-18s

Our under-18s picked up an impressive result at the weekend, as three second half strikes secured a 3-1 win at Blackburn.

Shortly after an uneventful first half, Rovers opened the scoring when Stuart Callaway's crisp effort from outside the box took a fortunate deflection into the net.

But Reading responding immediately, and Estonian striker Bogdan Vastsuk scored his first goal for the Academy to equalise in the North West.

David Dodds' men were in total control, and took the lead through Conor Shaughnessy on 69 minutes, before added a third when Jake Sheppard's cross was converted into his own net by Blackburn defender Ryan Nyambe.

That's two league wins in a row for the under-18s, who play Leicester City away on Tuesday 22nd April away from home next.
