U21s cup final tonight

10 April 2014

First leg at Etihad

Reading's under 21s play the first leg of our Premier League Cup final away to Manchester City tonight.

The game kicks off at 7pm at the Etihad Stadium, with the second leg at Madej'6ski Stadium on Saturday 19th April, kick off 3pm.

This is the first year of the competition, and Martin Kuhl's team are not content with simply being finalists, they want to become the first ever winners of such a prestigious trophy.

Our Academy teams have done the club proud this season, with our under 18s very cruelly knocked out of the FA Youth Cup on Monday after reaching the semi-finals for the first team ever. From that team, the likes of Jack Stacey, Aaron Kuhl and Tariqe Fosu are all set to be involved tonight.

Other rising stars in our under 21 squad include Craig Tanner, Aaron Tshibola, Sean Long, Niall Keown and Pierce Sweeney, who have all been on the bench for the first team this season. Striker Gozie Ugwu has also been on the bench for us in the FA Cup, and there is quality right through the squad.

City are likely to include Devante Cole, a highly-rated goalscorer and sun of Andy Cole, as well as a host of talented youngsters from all corners of the globe.

The Royals have knocked out Arsenal, QPR, Watford and Wolves on the way to the final, while City have seen off Burnley, Newcastle, West Brom and Stoke.

If you want to back our young lads, entry is only £3 adults and £1 u16s or over 65s, buy at the Ticket Office. Parking is free in car park Blue H, accessible from Alan Turing Way. Seating is unreserved in the Colin Bell Stand, Level 1.

The game is not being broadcast on TV or online, so if you want to stay in touch, go to for regular updates
