U21s TEAM NEWS: Two changes

19 April 2014

Kuhl names his second leg side

Under-21s boss Martin Kuhl has made two changes to the same side that narrowly lost to City in the first leg at the Etihad Stadium last week.

Irish youth internationals Sean Long and Liam Kelly come into the side in place of skipper Aaron Kuhl and Tariqe Fosu, who drops to the bench.

Dan Lincoln starts in goal, with Niall Keown likely to join Jake Cooper in the middle of defence - Cooper's suspension following the red card in the first leg does not kick in until after this tie.

Shane Griffin and Long will operate at full-back, behind under-18s wingers Liam Kelly and Jack Stacey, while Pierce Sweeney should lead the side from the centre of midfield alongside Aaron Tshibiola.

Craig Tanner has overcome a knock that he picked up in the first leg to start in attack this afternoon with fellow goalscorer that night Gozie Ugwu. Under-18s Icelandic international Sammi Fridjonsson is handed a place on the bench.

Reading: Lincoln, Long, Griffin, Keown, Cooper, Sweeney (c), Tshibola, Stacey, Kelly, Tanner, Ugwu.
Subs: Ward, Fridjonsson, Murombedzi, Fosu, Cardwell.

Manchester City: Lawlor, Drury, Facey, Denayer, Leigh, Glendon, Fofana, Ntcham, Lopes (C), Cole, Hiwula.
Subs: O'Brien, Angelino, Plummer, Bryan, Bytyqi.
