30 mins for Anton in 5-2 win over Oxford

Game time for Ferdinand at Hogwood Park

Anton Ferdinand got 30 minutes of match action under his belt this (Wednesday) afternoon, as Reading beat Oxford United 5-2 in a friendly at Hogwood Park.

The former QPR man captained a young Royals side against the Us, who included former Reading Academy youngster Josh Shama in their side.

With Martin Kuhl barking orders from the touchline and Nigel Adkins and Nick Hammond watching on, Liam Kelly scored Reading's first from 25-yards with the goalkeeper stranded in no man's land.

In the second half, unlikely scorer left back Shane Griffin notched his first goal in over two years as a deflected strike hit the back of the net, before midfielder Aaron Tshibola scored with a fine finish just inside the box.
