Boss targets new talentManager Nigel Adkins says the Royals remain active in the transfer market and conversations are ongoing about new signings.
At the same time, the boss is well aware that until a deal is signed one can never be certain.
Having signed Oliver Norwood [pictured] on Thursday evening, Nigel took his summer additions to four, with Simon Cox, Jamie Mackie and Anton Ferdinand the other new faces.
The boss confirmed that conversations are ongoing with potential targets, saying, "We had a long period without positive activity on the transfer front, then we've have managed to bring four players in.
"Oliver Norwood signed on Thursday and came on on Saturday, and we've got Jamie Mackie coming back as well now.
"I'd like to think we'll still be active, in fact I know we are being active, but you've still got to get them over the line.
"Conversations are being had, we're looking to keep improving the group which is important."
Norwood came on in the late stages of the Forest game for his first appearance in a Reading shirt, but he is cup-tied so will not play at Scunthorpe this evening.
Mackie was ineligible to face parent club Forest on Saturday, but is back for this evening's Capital One Cup match.
Ferdinand played half an hour in a friendly game last week, and Adkins has said he is not expected to play until after the international break.
Cox got his first Reading goal against Huddersfield last week, and has made 4(+1) appearances since joining from Nottingham Forest.
