Obita injury to be assessed

Midfielder suffers knee blow

The Royals will wait to assess an injury picked up by Jordan Obita at Nottingham Forest.

The midfielder took a heavy whack on the knee late in the second half and had to be replaced.

With Pavel Pogrebnyak already missing the game with a calf problem, that took the sidelined list to ten players - Karacan, Guthrie, Williams, McCleary, Robson-Kanu, Kelly, Ferdinand and lastly Mackie, who could not face his parent club.

Adkins said, "Jordan's done great for us, we don't want to be losing any more players to injury.

"It's too early to say, there was a big contact into his knee. We've got good staff here so we'll assess it, get the right course of treatment and rehabilitation."

On Pogrebnyak's injury, Adkins said, "It was pretty much the last minute of Tuesday's game and it looks like he's strained his calf. It's looking unlikely for next Tuesday and Saturday but you never know.

"I think we've got ten players unavailable - we didn't have Mackie today, and Norwood is cup-tied for Tuesday.

"It's a big injury list, but every team has them. It means there's a great opportunity for more players to taste first time football. OK maybe it's earlier than you'd anticipate for some in the Championship, but it's good for them and the club in the long term - but we've got to make sure we get the short term right as well."
