Preview: Royals v Ipswich

15 August 2014

A look ahead to Saturday

Reading vs Ipswich
Saturday 16th August, 3pm
Sky Bet Championship
Madejski Stadium

Team News
Royals: Stephen Kelly was ruled out of Saturday's game at Wigan, while Garath McCleary, Hal Robson-Kanu, Jem Karacan and Danny Williams also missed out. Danny Guthrie's injury requires closer inspection and will miss Saturday's game, while the game comes too soon for Jamie Mackie and Anton Ferdinand.

Ipswich: Manager Mick McCarthy has at least seven more players available for selection, as striker David McGoldrick could start. Following last weekend’s 2-1 home win over Fulham, McCarthy made eight largely changes to his starting line-up for the Tuesday night trip to League One side Crawley Town – the Blues exiting the Capital One Cup via a late goal in extra-time. Tommy Smith (sore groin), Tyrone Mings (back), Luke Hyam (cramp), David McGoldrick (sore groin) and Daryl Murphy (calf) have all returned to training though, as has summer signing Jonathan Parr – who missed out on the opening two matches with a groin problem. Cole Skuse (foot) remains a doubt, while Cameron Stewart (broken jaw) and former Royal Stephen Hunt (calf) are still sidelined.
