Reading: The Royals could have ten players unavailable for the tie: Jordan Obita picked up an injury in the defeat to Nottingham Forest, whilst Pavel Pogrebnyak, Jem Karacan, Danny Guthrie, Danny Williams, Garath McCleary, Hal Robson-Kanu, Stephen Kelly and Anton Ferdinand all look set to be unavailable. Oliver Norwood is cup tied. 

Scunthorpe: The Iron await news on striker Deon Burton, who has bruising to the bone in his knee, whilst loan signings Luke O’Neill and Billy Kee are unavailable. Sam Slocombe and James Severn are also injury absentees.

Tickets are on general sale now and will remain on sale subject to availability up until 12pm on Tuesday 26th August. Due to the bank holiday on Monday, the deadline for the last post for this match has now passed. But any purchases made after Thursday's deadline will be left for collection from the main ticket office at Madejski Stadium. Tickets will also be available on the night for no extra price. These will be cash only on the turnstiles.

By car: From all Routes, M180: The ground is situated on the outskirts of Scunthorpe, very close to the motorway. Leave the M180 at Junction 3 and take the M181 for Scunthorpe. At the end of this motorway, you will see the ground on your right. Turn right at the first roundabout onto the A18 and right again into the large car park at the ground.

Car parking: Car parking at the ground is available for 600 cars, priced at £3. Limited street parking available.

Royals boss Nigel Adkins: “I had 14 years, it’ll be good for myself and Andy Crosby to go back, we really enjoyed it there, we’ve got many, many good friends there so we’re looking forward to the game.”

Scunthorpe manager Russ Wilcox: “It is going to be a tough match, when we welcome Nigel and Andy back to the football club. They did an amazing job in their time here before going onto great things. It will also be nice for the fans to show their appreciation before getting right behind us and seeing us hopefully move into round three.”
