U18s edged by Norwich in thriller

27 August 2014

3-2 defeat for Royals

Reading's under-18s were narrowly beaten 3-2 by Norwich City at their Colney Training Centre in Norfolk on Saturday.

A Jamie-Eaton Collins free-kick put Norwich ahead before Lewis Byrne-Hewitt doubled their advantage, finding the net with an excellent strike from 25 yards.

The Royals pulled one back after the break when Daniel Williams netted, but Todd Cantwell restored the Canaries' two-goal cushion, finishing past Lewis Ward.

Josh Barrett reduced the arrears once more for David Dodds' men but City saw the game out to seal all three points.

The Royals will look to recover from this defeat on Saturday when they travel to Fulham.
