McCleary injury update

27 December 2014

Winger has 'outside chance' for Norwich

Royals winger Garath McCleary has an outside chance of facing Norwich, according to manager Steve Clarke.

The wideman picked up a slight knock in training, and missed the 2-2 draw at Brighton; a real shame following his man of the match display in the previous match against Watford.

Speaking after the Boxing Day game at the Amex, Clarke said, "He picked up a little knock in training and we didn’t feel it was worth the risk to put him on the pitch today.

"He’s got an outside chance of being ready for Sunday and if we can do that then leaving him out today will be a good decision."

Clarke does not anticipate having any other of our injured players back to face the Canaries.

Currently on their way back are McCleary, Danny Guthrie, Jem Karacan, Pavel Pogrebnyak, Anton Ferdinand, Jamie Mackie and Hope Akpan.
