Royals stars visit Royal Berkshire Hospital

17 December 2014

Christmas comes early for young fans

It was a busy day for the Royals on Tuesday afternoon, but that didn't stop a group of the club's first team players from paying their annual Christmas visit to the Royal Berkshire Hospital.

Jamie Mackie, Anton Ferdinand, Jem Karacan, Aaron Kuhl, Chris Gunter, Michael Hector, Ryan Edwards, Stephen Kelly and Alex Pearce all met youngsters in the Children’s Ward and Children’s A&E.

Skipper Karacan arranged a collection so that players could take down a huge selection of goodies for the young patients and Smyths Toys, Reading, also made a generous contribution to the impressive haul of festive gifts.

One fan did not miss the opportunity to have the cast recently put on his arm signed, whilst the squad broke into an impromptu chorus of 'happy birthday' to make another youngster's special day extra memorable.

Chris Gunter relished the chance to show off his artistic talents - and we have to admit his doodle of Santa Claus sketched for young Chloe was fairly impressive!
