Youngsters in action tonightMartin Kuhl’s U21 side head north this evening looking to make it five wins in six games when they face Bolton in the last 16 of the Premier League Cup.
The young Royals won the trophy last season and, having comfortably disposed of QPR in the last round, the Trotters now stand between them and the quarter-finals.
Bolton ran out 3-1 victors when the two sides met earlier in the season but Reading are starting to reproduce some of last term’s form.
A 3-1 success over Wolves at the Madejski Stadium last time out, with Dominic Samuel scoring twice and Tariqe Fosu once, means that they have only been beaten once since the middle of September.
Bolton, meanwhile, have won back-to-back games and reached the last-16 stage following a penalty-shootout win over Wigan.
Having drawn 4-4 against the Lactics, a game in which Georg Iliev hit a hat-trick, they prevailed 4-1 from the spot.
Tonight’s game will be contested at the Lancashire FA, County Ground, Leyland, and kick off is at 7pm. Supporters wishing to make the trip can gain entry for £3 as adults and £1 concessions.
