The Royals Academy prepared for Wednesday night's FA Youth Cup last 16 clash by defeating West Bromwich Albion 2-0 at Hogwood Park on Saturday morning.

Striker Harry Cardwell bagged the first goal of the game shortly before half time as David Dodds' men took control of the Barclays U18 Premier League match.

The former Hull City man then turned provider, as his dangerous cross was inadvertently put in to the net by a Baggies defender.

Reading: Ward; Watson (McLennan 60), Owusu, Dickie, Hyam (C); Jeffrey, Ofori (Sheppard 75), Shaughnessy, Husin; Vastsuk, Cardwell.

Want to see the U18s in action? Come down to Madejski Stadium on Wednesay evening and see if the Academy can beat Accrington Stanley and progress to the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup!

Entry is £3 for adults and £1 for concessions, with parking free of charge.
