Royals head to Paddy Power Park

The Royals are delighted to announce that Reading FC Women have reached an agreement to play their Women's Super League 2 home fixtures at the home of Farnborough FC.

Our successful women's side will play their league fixtures at Paddy Power Park starting in May with the visit of both Chelsea and Arsenal. Before that they will play their first match at the Stadium against face Blackburn in the FA Cup 4th Round on Sunday 16th March 2014.

This is an exciting development, following news that the Royals' will kick off their WSL2 campaign at home to Yeovil Town on Wednesday 16th April 2014 with a special curtain raiser at Madejski Stadium!

Reading FC Women first team manager Jayne Ludlow said: "We are really looking forward to getting down here and playing. It seems so long now that we've been in pre-season and we just can't wait to get going. It's great now to have a home ground and we're really looking forward to getting loyal support to every home game."

General Manager Kelly Chambers also expressed her delight at the agreement. "It was crucial for us to make sure we had a pitch that we knew suited our players and also one that felt like home," she said. "Now it's about making sure we build that spectator base. It's not too far from Reading so people can travel down and the local community here can also get involved."

Farnborough first team manager Spencer Day said: ”We’re delighted with this major partnership. Reading have agreed to make major improvements and maintenance to our pitch as well as other financial considerations. With attendances in ladies football on the rise this link up will bring substantial new supporters into Paddy Power Park with all the additional revenues that will bring.

“With the imminent relaunch of our bar and new commercial kitchen the timing of this deal is perfect. We have also agreed a joint initiative regarding sponsorship and advertising and working together in the long term will be a major benefit for the area after a tough few months – it’s a great start to 2014 and I’m sure everyone will welcome everyone from Reading here and wish them every success on the pitch. This agreement will help our long term target of sustainability”
