QPR boss on Royals clash
Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp believes the Royals were worthy winners at Loftus Road on Sunday afternoon.
Goals from Danny Williams, Alex Pearce and Garath McCleary saw Nigel Adkins’ side close the gap on their hooped rivals – in an impressive display live on Sky Sports.
“I thought the best team won,” Redknapp told www.qpr.co.uk. “Reading were bright, they had more energy than we did and I’ve got no complaints. I thought they worked very hard, It’s a difficult day but we’ve got to pick ourselves up again.
“I’m still confident we’ll be bang up there at the end of the year, I’m confident we can pick ourselves up now.”
The Rangers manager also hailed Garath McCleary’s strike as ‘amazing’ with assistant boss Kevin Bond commenting in his post-match press conference. “Nine times out of ten with someone shooting from that distance you take your chances, so fair play to them on that. It’s hugely disappointing for us.”
