2-1 victory over Southampton
Icelandic international Sammi Fridjonsson scored both goals as the Royals under-18s defeated Southampton 2-1 at Hogwood Park on Saturday afternoon.
The Royals came flying out of the blocks and took a sixth minute lead when Fridjonsson slotted home side-footed after some excellent work down the left.
And following a break in play, our lead was doubled. A cross from the left this time provided Fridjonsson the chance to double his tally from close range, and the Icelander made no mistake.
Armani Little hit back for the visitors after the break but in truth it was a deserved victory for David Dodds' men, whose next league game is on 1st of March at home to Tottenham Hotspur.
