The taking part that counts?

21 February 2014

Hec stars in this weekend's issue

It's the winning not the taking part that counts for Michael Hector according to the young defender's exclusive matchday programme interview with 'The Royal' this weekend.

The centre-back's starting chances have been thwarted by two successful red card appeals, but 21-year-old Hector is patiently waiting his turn as we keep winning - and tells us all about how his chance first came at Reading, his family's influence on his career, his sporting challenges to his teammates and much, much more!

This weekend's matchday programme also brings you the next in our 11-part Madejski Men series of showcases - the man who scored that goal against Forest, Mikele Leigertwood, features in the 15-page tribute this week, as do Matt Mills, Lloyd Owusu, Jimmy Kebe, Luke Chadwick and many more.

We report from a fantastic FA Youth Cup win which has set up a mouth-watering and historic quarter-final with Liverpool, and you could win the latest Maximo Park album, a football book called 'The Lost World Of Football' as well as signed snapshots of our Loftus Road hero Garath McCleary!

This issue also includes historical articles on Neil Webb and Shaka Hislop, manager's and captain's notes, a Young Royals Fanzine featuring some snaps from the signing session before our under-21s' win over Arsenal on Monday, and a matchday quiz, plus all you need to know about our opponents Blackburn Rovers.

The programme is still only £3, remains perfect bound, 84 pages long and jam-packed with content. You can buy your copy from one of our two programme pods at the ground, from our sellers dotted around the stadium concourses, from the megastore and the Ticket Office - and if you miss a copy you can even buy your issue online at readingfcdirect.co.uk.
