Young U18s beaten

15 February 2014

West Ham 4-0 Reading

An inexperienced Royals Academy were beaten 4-0 away at in-form West Ham United.

David Dodds' men had the ball in the net first when Harry Cardwell nodded home, but he was penalised for a foul on Hammers goalkeeper Sam Howes.

West Ham quickly responded to the errors that almost saw them go behind and were soon ahead. Moses Makasi was allowed to wander into the Reading penalty area to finish after good team play from Bywater, Djair Parfitt-Williams and Jordan Brown.

After going behind, Reading upped their performance and had several opportunities to draw level, but neither Jake Sheppard, Nana Owusu nor Bogdan Vastsuk could manage to finish past Howes.

But strikes from Kieran Bywater, striker Jaanai Gordon and Amos Nasha secured all three points for West Ham.
