Beckford misses out

14 January 2014

Bolton's top scorer injured

Bolton Wanderers' top scorer Jermaine Beckford looks set to miss this Saturday's game at Madejski Stadium.

The Wanderers striker pulled up with a hamstring injury after 30 minutes of their 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest, and will see a specialist to find out the full extent of the problem.

With fellow striker Craig Davies still short of fitness, Bolton could have just one option up front for this weekend's clash in David Ngog.

At the other end of the pitch, the Lancashire outfit have been without goalkeeper Adam Bogdan since the middle of October because of a knee problem, though they have a sound replacement in Andy Lonergan, who has more than 300 career appearances under his belt. Defenders David Wheater, Marc Tierney and Tyrone Mears were also missed for the Trotters' last fixture.

Meanwhile, former Royal Matt Mills looks set to play his first match at Madejski Stadium since departing in 2011. The former Leicester defender scored his first goal of the season last Saturday as he earned Bolton a draw at home to Forest.
