Nick hailed as man of the match
The forward looked a threat throughout on the left wing, whilst also impressed with his work rate - winning the ball back on a number of occasions and reverting to a wing back role in the dying stages.
"I’m a striker but if I can play in other positions and help other players out then it’s good for myself," said Blackman.
"It was nice to be voted man of the match. Obviously there was a lot of relief, that goal lifted a lot of tension and it’s good to get a point out of what looked like a losing situation. It’s a New Year and it showed great resilience from the boys, they never stopped going."
The former Blackburn man''s display was well received by supporters - and he acknowledged their backing by heading over to the East Stand after the final whistle to hand his shirt to one young fan.
