Adkins' FA Cup approachNigel Adkins has confirmed he will play his strongest possible team in this weekend's FA Cup game at Brighton.
We travel to the AmEx backed by more than 2,000 of our supporters, and the boss hopes to do well in what is a tricky away tie.
Adkins said, "We want a good cup run, we want to do well in the FA Cup.
He continued, "We've been decimated through injuries, we had ten players out who conceivably could be starting games but the way we kept going against Forest shows the group are pulling for each other. On top of that we had a couple of players come through fitness tests on the morning of the game.
"We're hoping Jordan Obita will be closer for the weekend but the rest are unavailable. Hal might be two weeks, Jobi a week, Leigertwood, Bridge and Morrison maybe the end of January, perhaps February. Baird rocked his ankle again, Roberts we don't know time-wise, Jem is out for the season and Kaspars is back from suspension."
With so many players out, the Royals again had a number of youngsters involved in our last outing.
Adkins was keen to praise attacking midfielder Jake Taylor, saying, "He has been doing great in training, absolutely top drawer and deserves his opportunity. He's been here since age 8, he came on and did well. Every single day his attitude is bang on.
Brighton had former Reading man Leroy Lita on loan recently, but his deal ended on 1st January.
Tickets for the away end will be on sale at the AmEx - and it's sure to be a cracking atmosphere as we take on Oscar Garcia's men.
