Hoping for a good run

Akpan on continuing good form

Hope Akpan believes the Royals could now go on a solid run of form following last Saturday's historic 7-1 win over Bolton Wanderers.

Nigel Adkins' men have now put back-to-back wins together after the weekend - in which Akpan bagged his first goal for the club.

"It was a good performance from the lads, and I was delighted to get my first goal. Everyone working hard paid off, we scored seven goals and it was a great performance.

"It's good to be out there and helping the team play well. The dressing room changes dramatically when you win games. We hope we can use that to keep the run going and hopefully enjoy a run of games."

Hope praised his central defensive partner from both games, Danny Williams, and is expecting a tough game this Saturday away at Ipswich.

"We've worked well together over the past two games. We are both similar types of players, we like to bring the ball back and play it simple, and it's working at the minute.

"It will be a tough game (at Ipswich) but hopefully we can keep the spirit going and get some more points."
