Adkins on sidelined players
Reading were without ten players for our New Year's Day game with Nottm Forest, and two of them could be back for the FA Cup game away to Brighton on Saturday.
Jordan Obita could return following a virus, while Kaspars Gorkss is back from a one-match ban.
Boss Nigel Adkins gave an update on all of our sidelined players, saying, "We're hoping Jordan Obita, who has been really good for us but missed the Christmas period with a virus, will be a bit closer for the weekend.
"Chris Baird rocked his ankle again this week, we thought we had him back but he's done it again so perhaps there's an instability there.
"Hal has a calf injury and might be two weeks, Jobi perhaps a week with a foot injury.
"Jason [Roberts] we're not quite sure where he's going to be time-wise. In terms of Leigertwood, will he be end of January, maybe February? Same for Sean Morrison and Wayne Bridge, by the time you get them all up to a match tempo it takes time. Of course Jem is looking at next season.
"Kaspars is back from suspension now of course. I haven't missed anyone from that list, have I?!"
The boss continued, "Luke Anthony and his physio staff are working extremely hard, as the players are.
"They are desperate to do well and get back involved. They've just got to get through the rehab process, they're frustrated because they're missing out when the team needs them.
"We've had to consistently change personnel since the Leeds game really. If we can get players back for the second half of the season it will bode well."
