LMA award for Royals

22 January 2014

Recognition for 7-1 win

The Royals have been awarded with the League Managers' Association's Performance of the Week following our 7-1 thrashing of Bolton on Saturday.

The LMA's five-man panel including Howard Wilkinson, Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry has selected a stunning performance by Nigel Adkins' men as we scored seven goals for the first time in almost 35 years.

The Royals stormed to three points thanks to a first half hat-trick from Adam Le Fondre, then goals from Pavel Pogrebnyak, Kaspars Gorkss, Hope Akpan and Nick Blackman.

Manager Nigel Adkins will be presented with a special award by the LMA this week, and the presentation will be shown on Sky Sports News' Soccer Saturday show.
