Obita: Reward for the work

21 January 2014

"We were on fire!"

Jordan Obita believes a superb showing against Bolton was just rewards for Reading's hard work behind the scenes in recent weeks.

The Academy product has received deserved plaudits for two admirable performances at left back in back to back wins over Watford and the Trotters, and was happy to show his attacking flair in a series of forays into the opposition half.

"I think as a team we’re working much harder, it’s showing. We’re more of an attacking threat than we were before," said Obita.

"It was a great performance from the lads and to be four up at half time was amazing. The support from the fans was great, sure they'll savour that for some time. We were on fire in the first half, we backed ourselves from Watford and hopefully we can do that for the games coming up.

"The more confidence I get the more runs I make forward. I’m happy wherever I am in the team, we just want to be attacking, solid as a team and hard to beat."
