Samuel joins Daggers

9 January 2014

Striker agrees loan deal

Royals striker Dominic Samuel has joined Dagenham and Redbridge on a one month youth loan.

The 19-year-old Academy product will link up with fellow Royal Lawson D'Ath at the League Two club, who is currently enjoying a loan spell with the Daggers.

Dominic made his professional debut in December 2012, when he was brought on as a substitute in our Barclays Premier League game with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

He first came to the attention of Royals fans after a spell of scoring 13 times in 14 games for the Royals under 18s during the 2011/12 campaign - and such form earned both an England under 19s call up and a professional contract at Madejski Stadium.

Samuel had a shot loan spell at Colchester United last year, making two appearances for the U's.

The forward even tweeted earlier this week to announce that he wouldn't be cutting his hair until he scored his first professional goal, so let's hope he gets off to a good start!

The deal is subject to the normal paperwork ratification by the football authorities, and we anticipate that process will be completed shortly.
