'We're full of confidence'

Striker speaks after 5-1 victory

Striker Adam Le Fondre says the team are brimming with confidence after a thumping 5-1 victory against Blackpool.

The Royals made it three wins in the last four games, and it was a dominant performance from start to finish.

And with Nigel Adkins' side putting seven past Bolton in our previous home game, Madejski Stadium has been a very good place to be in the past ten days.

Adam told Reading FC Player that the mood in the camp is excellent, saying, "It's great, we're full of confidence, especially at home.

"It was a bit of a blip at Ipswich, I thought we played well but didn't get the rewards. We were hard done by with the penalty and had the better of the game - but to bounce back with a resounding win like that is great."

Le Fondre of course grabbed the headlines with a second hat-trick in two home games, but he was very keen to pass praise on to his teammate Garath McCleary, who now has 14 assists for the season.

Asked about the winger's contribution, ALF said with a broad smile, "It's alright, he could do better!

"No, joking aside, I said on Twitter how much I respect him, and think he's one of the best wingers in the league, if not the best. He proved it again with the two goals he laid on for me."
