Manager honest on transfer prospects
Manager Nigel Adkins has confirmed that he is highly unlikely to make any new signings until the club's ownership discussions are resolved.
The boss wanted to be upfront with our supporters about the likelihood of new arrivals, and told local press this week, "Until the ownership situation is resolved, this is where we are in terms of the squad.
"If the time comes when the ownership comes to fruition, then we'll see if there's any scope to do anything, but in the meantime there's not.
"It's the reality of where we are, you won't hear me moan about it. We're positive in everything we do and we're positive about the group of players. There's a hunger about them to do well."
He continued, "Training has been excellent, we've got a young group who have applied themselves ever so well. The attitude has been good, the camaraderie has been excellent.
"It's a new challenge for everyone. Everyone has bonded ever so well. And we know that over a period of time we've managed to integrate youngsters here anyway.
"But it's building a new team, the way we want to go and play. We need to mould them in the way we want to play.
"I'm optimistic to know they can keep improving, but realistic enough to know we can't put too high an expectation on them. That's the sensible way to do it and I'm sure the supporters will get right behind them."
