Midfielder Hope Akpan tweeted his approval - and was so impressed he began a caption competition via social media, promising to send the winning Royal a brand new Reading strip of their own!
The home, away and goalkeeper strips went on the shelves at Madejski Stadium from 9am on Wednesday morning - and within seconds of the doors opening supporters were snapping up their preferred jersey.
The new Reading FC kits are now available to purchase in the Megastore - and both fans and players alike have been giving their reactions!
The traditional blue and white hooped home strip has borrowed features from some of the classic Reading kits throughout the club's history - and was especially inspired by Jack Mansell, who made the decision to bring the Hoops back to Elm Park in 1969 after they were replaced by an unusual sky blue shirt for four years in the sixties!
