First team manager Nigel Adkins: "We'll go to Boreham Wood on Friday night and then to Wycombe on Saturday. We'll extend the game time of the players, and utilise the squad across the two games. I'm really pleased with how the players have been progressing in this moment in time."
Royals Academy manager Eamonn Dolan: "I'm really looking forward to enhancing our excellent link with Boreham Wood on Friday - over the last couple of years through a connection from David Dodds (Assistant Academy Manager) and Danny Hunter (Boreham Wood Chairman) we have developed a really good working partnership and thus we are looking forward to sending first team squad players down to there on Friday."
"It's not just a great game for the players but a good opportunity for our fans this weekend to come and have a look at the young squad that the gaffer is building. I have happy memories of Boreham Wood as that's where we beat Arsenal last season to get to the U21s Cup Final - and on a personal level, whenever you see Danny and their gaffer Ian Allinson you know that you'll get a real warm welcome. It's a really good game for the Reading fans as well. They'll be treated well at Meadow Park."
In a closely contested encounter, it was honours even between Reading XI and Boreham Wood as the two sides played out a 1-1 draw at Meadow Park in July 2013.
Weekend of Royals football!
The clash at Boreham Wood is one of just three clashes for Reading this weekend, as the Royals also travel to Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday at 3pm, before Reading FC Women host London Bees at Madejski Stadium at 6pm.
