Honours even at Meadow ParkA Reading XI drew 0-0 with our Partner Club Boreham Wood on Friday night as our pre-season schedule continues.
Both defences were on good form at Meadow Park as clean sheets were kept, with the Royals fielding a side which included eleven players who have already played for the first team in pre-season.
After a relatively quiet first 45 minutes, the Royals thought they had taken the lead when Sammi Fridjonsson found the back of the net, only to see the offside flag raised.
Royals midfielder Aaron Tshibola headed over from a corner late on, and the score remained goalless at full time.
Eight players who started for Reading went on to play 15 minutes for the first team in their friendly win over Wycombe Wanderers the following day.
25-year-old goalkeeper Mikkel Andersen and our young striker Dom Samuel were the only Royals to play the full 90 minutes at Boreham Wood, as our younger players were introduced with 15 minutes left on the clock.
Nigel Adkins' men travel to Stevenage for another friendly on Tuesday night, while an U21s side will play Hemel Hempstead at the same time. Click here to view the pre-season fixture list, and our U21s friendlies here.
