Jake happy with pre-seasonRoyals midfielder Jake Taylor is certainly enjoying his pre-season, after putting in some impressive displays in a Reading shirt.
The Academy graduate, who has been with us since the age of eight, scored for the Royals in our most recent friendly at Wycombe Wanderers.
"It was nice to score against Wycombe, and it was great that we played well and won 2-0," he said after the full time whistle at Adams Park.
"We want to play nice, attacking football. We've worked on it a lot during the pre-season, so it's nice to show that in a game-situation.
"I've known Jordan (Obita) for a long time, we are good friends and know the way each other play. We work well together, and I thought we linked up well down the left.
"The togetherness in the squad is great. Everyone is backing each other which is what you want in a team."
Boss Nigel Adkins also heaped praise on the former Wales Under 21 captain, "I thought Jake was phenomenal. His movement, desire and awareness to get into positions to score.
"He works like that every single day in training so it came as no surprise to any of us. I know he'll maintain that workrate. He's got an opportunity and is grasping it."
