Reading FC Women picked up a superb 8-1 victory away to the London Bees this past weekend in the FA WSL Continental Cup.
Lucy Loomes cancelled out Fran Kirby's first-minute strike to pull the Bees level at the break but seven second-half goals, with four coming in an eight-minute spell, turned the game on its head.
Bianca Bragg, making her Reading debut after joining from Arsenal last week, and Melissa Fletcher both scored twice before Kirby grabbed a second, while Lauren Bruton and Cheryl Williams also found the back of the net.
Royals boss Jayne Ludlow said: "Obviously we're extremely pleased with the result, but more than that we're pleased with the performance, especially in the second-half. We changed a few things at half-time, changed personnel and the setup that we had and it really worked for us. That was the first time I have seen them actually replicate what they are doing in training in a game situation. It was great, but we're not going to get carried away. Every single one of the players out there, whether they started or whether they came on, did exactly what we asked them to do and put a great shift in for the team."
London Bees (4-2-3-1): Harris, Chappell, Brookes, Davies, Carson, Cooper (Hurley 56), Anderson, Mallett (Loomes 8), Howells (Hinchcliffe 71), Gaylor, Nuttall
