Tshibola agrees new deal

20 June 2014

Aaron commits his future to Reading

The Royals are delighted to announce that young midfielder Aaron Tshibola has agreed to put pen to paper on a new contract at Madejski Stadium.

The 19-year-old talent was named on the first-team bench for the first time last season in away games at Derby, Brighton and Leeds, and frequently travelled with Nigel Adkins' squad for fixtures on the road.

'Tish' will commit his future to Reading when he signs a new two-year deal with the club on 1st July, terms which will keep him with the Royals until the summer of 2016.

The news comes after Jake Taylor and Michael Hector also agreed deals of the same time-length at the end of May, with Aaron securing his place in the group with several fellow Royals Academy graduates.

"I'm over the moon - this is where I want to be," Aaron told Reading FC Player. "Having seen many of the lads break through into the first team, there was only one place I wanted to be, and that's here."

Tshibola was an important part of our under-21s Premier League Cup winning season, and made more appearances for our development group than any other player.

A composed central midfielder who is known for his superb technique and ability to pass effectively, Aaron also has an eye for goal and scored three times last season - including this excellent goal against Arsenal and Madejski Stadium (below).
