Manager looks to St. Andrew's
Reading manager Nigel Adkins was asked in his pre-match press conference this week whether he was nervous ahead of a big final ten league games for his side. The answer could not have been more emphatic.
“Not at all – I just get excited, every game has more significance!” said the Royals boss.
“I want to get ourselves to the Premier League, the place is buzzing at the moment and there is so much positivity going around the football club. Our 21s are in the final of the Premier League Cup which is great, it’s been a fantastic campaign for our Academy. Now we are just ready for this final challenge. We forget about everything that has gone on before and we get ready with plenty of anticipation.”
First up, Birmingham City – and although Lee Clark’s men currently sit 19th in the Sky Bet Championship, nobody is underestimating the Blues at Hogwood Park.
“They’re a massive football club. They’ve got a big squad of players and Birmingham away is always going to be a challenging fixture. You can highlight several players throughout their team but we’ve done our homework and we’ll be as prepared as we can be. It’s about how we conduct ourselves and how we play our football.”
