U21s ready for Anfield bow

3 March 2014

Liverpool lie in wait

Reading's under-21s are enjoying a spell of good form as they go into tonight's Barclays Premier League clash with Liverpool at Anfield.

Though Martin Kuhl's men lost last Monday night to West Ham, they have won the last four from six in all competitions and will be full of confidence as they take on the Reds.

The game will be broadcast live on LFCTV - with their coverage starting at 6.30pm and kick off 7pm (free on Sky Channel 429).

Second year Academy scholar Tariqe Fosu has been part of both of Reading's under-18s and under-21s sides that have progressed to the quarter-final of the FA Youth Cup and the semi final of the Premier League Cup respectively.

He paid tribute to some excellent results of late for the U21s, citing our Madejski Stadium victory over Arsenal as a reason for believing victory can be achieved this evening.

"It should be a good game," he told Reading FC Player. "The under-21s have had some good results recently. We beat Arsenal at the stadium, we lost to West Ham but we'll just pick ourselves back up and hopefully get another win.

"Away from home it was quite difficult to beat Wolves in the Cup, but we battled through and got the win.

"Their (Liverpool's) U18s are a good side so their U21s should be even stronger. It'll be difficult but it was against Arsenal, and we did well against them so hopefully we can win again."
