Royals on international duty this weekend

Several players in action

There are plenty of Royals involved with their international sides over this weekend, check out who is where and when below...

Jordan Obita will look to build on his impressive goalscoring debut with England's under-21s in their second game of the Toulon Tournament on Monday night against Brazil, kick off 6.30pm on BT Sport.

Defenders Alex Pearce and Stephen Kelly will hope to be involved this weekend as the Republic of Ireland take on Turkey in a friendly on Sunday at 6pm, shown live on Sky Sports 1.

The pair are in a 29-man Emerald Isle squad to play the Turks, Italy, Costa Rica and Portugal over the next couple of weeks.

Young defenders Pierce Sweeney and Shane Griffin are both in the Ireland U21s squad to play Qatar in a friendly on Saturday 24th May in Germany.

In the U19s age group of the Emerald Isle, duo Liam Kelly and Sean Long are on duty for a UEFA Elite Phase Tournament. In the UEFA U19 Championships Elite Qualifying Round Group Four, Ireland take on Iceland at 7pm on Wednesday in their first game.

Right back Chris Gunter received a late call up to the Wales squad after recovering from injury. He and Hal Robson-Kanu will be in contention to start against the Netherlands in Amsterdam on 4th June.

Our goalkeeper Jonathan Henly has been away with Scotland U21s at a training camp, ahead of their UEFA qualifier with the Netherlands on 28th May.

Elsewhere in our Academy, trio Harry Cardwell, Dominic Hyam and George McLennan are now with Scotland for their Group 1 games of the Elite Round of the UEFA U19 Championship. They take on Ukraine and England on the 24th and 26th of May respectively, both at Burton Albion, before playing Montenegro on the 29th at Walsall.

Our Icelandic player Sammi Fridjonsson will be involved in a U19 UEFA Elite Round in Ireland.

Previously, 16-year-old duo Jake Sheppard and Zak Jules, both second year scholars next season, were part of Scotland U17s impressive run to the semi-finals of the UEFA U17 Championships - read more here.
