Sheppard scores in vital Scotland win

16 May 2014

U18s duo reach Euro semi-finals!

Royals Academy scholar Jake Sheppard scored a crucial goal for Scotland U17s last night, helping them to a 3-1 win over Switzerland which seals their place in the UEFA Under-17 Championship semi-finals.

Sheppard and fellow under-18s defender Zak Jules helped the Scots to securing an important result, and they will now play Holland this Sunday in the last four.

Both players completed the full 80 minutes, with Sheppard scoring from close range to put Scotland 2-1 up after they fell behind in the first half.

Jules gave away a very questionable penalty towards the end, but justice was served as spot kick was well saved, and our duo performed magnificently to help their nation over the line.
