'We need your support on Saturday'

2 May 2014

Duo hope for big atmosphere

Saturday's showdown with Burnley at Madejski Stadium will be Reading's biggest home crowd of the season, with everyone connected to the club realising the importance of the fixture.

Captain Jobi McAnuff says the players can't wait for the 12.15pm kick off, and says the support from the Royals faithful will be crucial in getting Nigel Adkins' men over the line.

"It's a massive game and we're all looking forward to it. As players, we can't wait to get out there. We want to finish the job in terms of getting in the Play-Offs.

"We need you to get down there, help support the boys and help us get over the line."

Alex McCarthy echoed Jobi's sentiments, and says three points is a must as the Royals aim for the Play-Offs.

"The fans are obviously crucial. It's a huge game for us and we need their great support on Saturday," the goalkeeper added.

"The atmosphere will be unbelievable - everyone knows what need to happen on Saturday so hopefully we can get three points and go from there."
