Bowyer backs Royals to recover

Blackburn boss positive on Reading's hopes

Blackburn manager Gary Bowyer has backed the Royals to bounce back from their 3-1 defeat at Ewood Park.

After an evenly contested first half in which the visitors grabbed a deserved equaliser through Glenn Murray, a superb free-kick from Ben Marshall added to Rudy Gestede's cool finish, gave in-form Rovers all three points.

"That was a tough game, they’re a good team as I said before the game," said Bowyer. "They’re getting their injuries back now and you saw that with Williams coming on the pitch at the end, so I still believe they’ll be there or there abouts at the end of the season, so for us to put a performance in like that was fantastic.

"To concede just before half time unsettles you a little bit, but I thought it was coming. In a strange way I was happy they equalised because it gave the game some edge. We always finish very, very strong. There’s a good belief about us. Ben Marshall’s free-kick is absolutely stunning, his confidence is sky high at the moment. After that I always felt we needed a third, even at 3-1 Reading kept going."
