Gunter stars for Wales in Belgium

17 November 2014

Full-back named Man of the Match

Chris Gunter put in a man-of-the-match performance on Sunday evening as Wales earned an eye-catching goalless draw in Belgium.

Up against Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, the full-back proved unbreakable in defence and also provided his usual energy going forward as Chris Coleman’s men extended their competitive unbeaten run to four matches.

The result ensured that they remained top of Group B and three points ahead of the Belgians, who are strong favourites to win the group.

Hal Robson-Kanu played 95 minutes in the same game, and came close to winning it at the end, while Jake Taylor was an unused substitute.

The trio are set to return to home shores this afternoon.

Oliver Norwood is back with the Royals squad after playing 90 minutes in Northern Ireland’s 2-0 defeat to Romania on Friday evening.
