He's F.O.R.T.Y! Birthday wishes for Murty

13 November 2014

Reaction to former captain's special day

Former Reading skipper and record breaker Graeme Murty turned forty on Thursday - and received best wishes from journalists, fans and former teammates!

'Murts' made 296 (+11) league appearances for the Royals, playing 339 times overall for the club - and receiving a testamonial in July 2009.

Arguably his most loved moment in the blue and white hoops was his Madejski Stadium penalty against Q.P.R, which ensured the Royals topped Sunderland's previous Football League record of 105 points in the 1998-99 season. Mascot Kingsley never quite recovered from the ensuing celebrations...

Take a look at some of today's social media reaction to Murty's milestone.
