Opposition View: "We need to be prepared"

Millers manager Evans on tonight's game

Rotherham manager Steve Evans believes that his side will have to be fully prepared to face the Royals at Madejski Stadium on Tuesday evening. (8pm).

The Millers, 17th in the Championship, lost their first match in six on Saturday when they were beaten 3-0 at home by high-flying Middlesbrough.

And Evans is expecting another tough contest this evening when the two sides meet for the first time in a decade.

The Rotherham boss told the Sheffield Star: “I think they [Reading] have been playing very well but results haven’t been going for them.

“Just look at the squad of players they’ve got. They’ve got Glenn Murray up front from Palace, who’s as a good a targetman striker as there is in the Championship.

“They’ve got young Hope Akpan, who I signed on a free out of Everton, and people like Nick Blackman from Sheffield United.

“They’ll be favourites to beat us but we’ll go there and, hopefully, there are a couple of things we’ll be able to exploit. We need to be prepared. They’re a decent side with decent players and high expectations.”

Millers goalkeeper Adam Collin is relieved to be playing again so quickly following the weekend’s disappointing defeat.

He told the Rotherham Advertiser: "We were five unbeaten before the weekend and we've got to turn ourselves around. This is another massive game for us.

"Middlesbrough are the best team we've seen this season, home or away, but we caused our own problems. The first two goals we didn't defend right and they punished us.”

Tickets for the match are on general sale - advanced prices are available until 5pm on Tuesday evening. Click here for more information
