Reading nominated for Away Day of the Year

15 November 2014

Winner announced next month

Reading have been nominated for the Away Day of the Year award for 2014, as chosen by the Football Supporters’ Federation.

The winner will be announced on December 1st at the Federation’s annual award ceremony in London.

At the 2014 Football Business Awards in Chelsea last week, The Madejski Stadium was voted as having the Best Non-match Day use of its venue.

The Royal Berkshire Conference Centre’s team introduced a self-taught rate management system and increased pro-activity to meet targets and secure a number of high-profile events. They seamlessly managed the Pride of Reading, Waitrose Supplier Conference, Primark Spring/Summer launch and a number of last-minute events after flooding in the area, winning the title of Operations Team of the Year at the Football Hospitality Awards.

The judges said: “The team met and exceeded tough targets in a very challenging operational environment with innovative solutions and hard work attracting outstanding feedback. An impressive example of how a focused team effort and a never-say-no attitude can deliver impressive returns to non match day business.”
