Special trip to Battersea Old WindsorAnton Ferdinand and Jem Karacan paid a special visit to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, Old Windsor last week - and made plenty of friends!
The duo headed down to the famous animal rescue centre bearing gifts, as the club donated a bag of used balls along with plenty of Christmas treats.
The home aims to accept any breed of animal, at any age, including dogs or cats with serious medical and behavioural problems. Their expert team of dog trainers and veterinary staff give the animals in care the best possible chance of a fresh start in a happy new home in the UK, or even further afield.
Staff from the venue showed both players around, before introducing Jem and Anton to Lolly and Rufus - two residents who were all too keen to show off their dribbling skills...
Club Captain Karacan said: "I've got a Blue Staff at home and when you see the dogs in the kennels here and hear their stories, it pulls on your heartstrings. The jobs the people do here are unbelievable. I'll be telling the lads about it, if they want a dog definitely come down here and give one a home."
Anton Ferdinand said: "You go in there and you want to take them all home! It makes you think, there are so many out there that don't even get to this stage - so in a way the ones here a lucky."
