"Get on the front foot"
Nigel Adkins has called for his players to show their belief as they take on Blackpool at Madejski Stadium this Saturday.
José Riga’s Tangerines will be fighting to lift themselves from the foot of the division, whilst the Royals are hoping to get back on track with the type of displays that saw them pick up four consecutive victories earlier in the campaign.
“I’ll tell the players to be positive, get on the front foot and believe in themselves,” said Adkins.
“We’ve got good players, we’ve got a good team and at this moment in time we’ve got to show that grit, passion and resilience to keep going and doing the basics well. If a team is together everyone achieves more and if everyone can go do that we have an opportunity.”
The manager has also reiterated his thanks to the club's supporters for their backing, asking them to keep the noise levels high for Saturday’s game.
“They are massively important and we’re massively appreciative of all the supporters who come. We all share the same desire, we want Reading Football Club to win games of football and on Saturday we need to fill the stadium full of positive energy and everyone can make the players feel ten feet tall.
The Royals were handed a boost this week as a number of long term absentees returned to training. See them in action yourself this Tuesday at the club Open Day!
