Stand in skipper looks to play for the badgeChris Gunter says togetherness is the key as the Royals look to get back to winning ways against Blackpool on Saturday.
The Welsh international, who has skippered the Royals in the Sky Bet Championship this season, asked to speak to the press on Thursday afternoon – fronting up ahead of the weekend’s game.
“We win as a team and we lose as a team,” said the former Tottenham full back.
“The main thing is sticking together, working as hard as we can and even when times are tough having belief that we’re still a good team with good players. After Tuesday there were 30 odd people who were devastated to lose the game. We don’t want that to continue and the only ones who can change that are the ones in the changing room.”
Speaking to Get Reading, Chris also praised the work of Nigel Adkins and his coaching staff at Hogwood Park.
“The work the manager does for us is unbelievable. Saturday we will be going out to get a result for him, for ourselves, for the club and for the shirt we’re wearing. He and the staff have shown a commitment and determination to get results for the club from the moment they took charge.”
